Optic Factory Productions comprises of Ben Dring and Sam Steinle, two like-minded film producers with extensive prior involvement with a series of local music and film promotional projects.


Ben Dring; Director, Producer, Director of Photography, Animator and Editor.

Beginning in an audio and technical theater based background, including producing and recording local Adelaide bands; Ben Dring has studied at both TAFE SA and the University of South Australia gaining a Certificate II in Live Production, Theatre and Events (AC Arts Tafe SA - 2006) and B. Media Arts (Major - Film & TV; Minor 3D Animation; 2010).

In the last few years, Ben has steadily gained recognition throughout the Adelaide industry for his editing, cinematography and producing abilities with a great technical knowledge spanning all areas of the film production process. Recently after graduating from his Media Arts degree, he was taken on as a full time editor by an Australian music publishing company as well as working with Heavy Duty Magazine's Technical Editor, Doc Robinson, to produce and edit a brand new Australian Biker TV Program.


Sam Steinle; Director, Producer and Writer.

Sam's creative interests have developed over the years from a beginning in drama and ethnography writing. A fascination with environment and space triggered an interest in film, that has been expanded with a Certificate III in Multimedia (2007), an Enhancement Studies course in Media and Communications; Monash University (2007) and  most recently completed a Bachelor of Media Arts (2010), followed by an Honours year in Arts (2011).

Since 2008, Sam has become recognised around Adelaide for his camera and cinematography abilities with independent productions and voluntary work serving with the Carclew funded Your Take Sessions, directing and producing his own work as part of a philosophy thesis, and recently was chosen to direct an online series by the Bigpond Adelaide Film Festival 2011.

As a team, Ben’s technical expertise and Sam’s creative power, geared by a joint love and skill for music and videography provides balance and strength in all their productions, striving for excellence in all aspects.
